Scientist Resume Project
Honor’s Biology 1st Semester Research Project Name
Scientist Resume and Oral Presentation
Scientist to research _______________________________________________________
This project will help you as a student at COHS to prepare to be a productive citizen and to understand the demands of a changing world by gaining knowledge about people in science. You will use technology as part of the research and presentation, another way the COHS hopes to prepare you for the world. A well-done paper and presentation go a long way towards developing a feeling of self-worth.
Procedure
Wall of Fame Headshot will include name, photo of scientist, birth/death date and a brief statement on their major accomplishment. Image citation must be located at the lower left or right margin footer in 8 size font. This headshot will be printed on 8 ½ x 11 inch paper. See sample format on reverse
The written portion of the project will be in the form of a Resume for your scientist. In addition to your scientist, you will need to look for 2 additional scientists that worked in the same area/field as your scientist to list as a personal reference at the bottom of the resume. Information will be in modified bullet format for the most part. The bibliography is a vital part of the written project. No credit will be given if the bibliography is missing and/or not completed correctly. You will need at least 5 different resources both reference material from the COHS Library and the internet. Wikipedia will not be considered a valid source for this project. Be sure to include the complete URL for any internet sites.
The Oral Presentation portion of the project will include a Power Point Presentation during Finals week. The Power Point will include a minimum of 5 slides, highlighting biographical information and significant contributions of your scientist. Each slide may have a maximum of 5 words (that includes any titles) since this is the visual portion of the project. Oral Presentation length is 5-7 minutes.
